Botanica.
Camera Botanica is a small cabin (3 x 3.5m) built as a holiday cabin for a family wanting to live amongst the protected heath of this area. The project involved the relocation of a 70 year old “shearers quarters”. It is designed to open up during summer vacation, and close up like a small toolbox while not in use.
It is intended to withstand a very likely fire event and the highest level of Bushfire Attack in the Australian Standards (Flame Zone). Botanica provides opportunities to rethink how bushfire can be integrated with biodiversity and daily life.
