Singletown.
Singletown is an Architectural masterplan project conducted over a year - researching the significant role demographics play in shaping the design of our buildings, products and cities. It builds upon the work of an exhibition curated by Droog Design for the Architectural Biennale in Venice. The intent of this research was to further define the single individual, and test ways the practice of architecture may consciously design for this growing demographic.
The project proposes a new building typology that better responds to social circumstances and population growth, in order to achieve sustainable urban and architectural outcomes. Old typologies are questioned that gentrify, isolate and prescribe a social order on a building and a space.
